We are your representatives to the University of Pittsburgh community. We host a variety of programs and services to meet you, the non-traditional student's needs.
  • Initially formed in 1971 as the CGS Student Cabinet and is now known as the CGS Student Government
  • Our mission is, "to serve the needs and interests of the CGS student body"
  • Comprised of a five member Council and five divisions which assist Council in achieving its objectives
  • Elected each year in April by the CGS student population
  • Represents the CGS students' needs and interests
  • Provides activities and services to enhance the CGS students' lives on campus
Council represents full and part time, traditional and non-traditional students who attend classes in the evening, during the day, on weekends and externally through the College of General Studies at the University of Pittsburgh. It also provides an array of services and programs to enhance the CGS student's life on campus. The CGS Student Government hosts two public Council meetings during the months of September through November and January through April, and one Council meeting during the month of December and May through August. Agenda items are placed on the Council agenda one week prior to the scheduled meeting by emailing: cgssg@pitt.edu
